Education & Skills Training
Among the high rate of unemployment in the country, Finhda deem it a great honour to train the
women on the production of liquid soaps, hair foods, parazone, and batik tie and dye etc. This
initiative is to mitigate the unemployment rate in the country. The potentials of these women
were improved and trained to become self employed. Finhda is committed to help alleviate the
high poverty among the women in the area by assisting them through capacity building, credit
facilities and appropriate technology. We hold a strong view that women entrepreneurs are the
principal caretakers of most household livelihood and other social, economic and political
roles.
Finhda will empower the women through the promotion of income generating activities supported by
the introduction of improved technologies and guaranteed market to make their performance more
functional and efficient.
Grants (Finhda.Livelihood.Empowerment.Program)
All over the world, women faces different forms and shapes of unique challenges in accessing
financial resources or credit, from startups to growing businesses, and participating or
contributing fully in the economy. Despite these strenuous obstacles, women have shown
remarkable resilience, creativity or innovation, and entrepreneurship, driving or creating
positive change in their communities and the world at large.
Microcredit and leadership workshops have emerged as powerful tools for empowering women. They
provide women with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to succeed in business, they
invest in their families’ education, health, and well-being, breaking the cycle of poverty and
creating an enabling environment for other fellow women to thrive in their businesses thereby
making a positive change in their communities. Investing in women’s economic empowerment sets a
direct path towards gender equality, poverty eradication and inclusive economic growth. Women
make enormous contributions to economies, whether in businesses, on farms, as entrepreneurs or
employees. We must of a necessity, collectively and intentionally act now to place every woman
and girl to have equal rights, opportunities, and representation. To achieve this, we need
unwavering commitment, innovative solutions, and collaboration across all sectors and
stakeholders.
F.L.E.P MODULE
Under this module, we discover the actively poor market women and fund them with startup or
capital to enhance their operations. A rigorous research is done within a geographical location
and the team carries out interviews with these women and the Market Queen Mothers of the various
markets. A typical Ghanaian market has a Queen Mother who is nominated to help mobilize, assist
and organized these women into an organized groups who are capable of securing funds from the
indigenous banks or through daily contribution (susu- in our local parlance) or rely on
organizations such as Finhda for financial support to expand, grow or startup. We identify a
market within a location, for instance, tomatoes sellers association in a particular market,
kindly have interactions with the Queen Mother to discover the exact plight of these actively
poor women in that category of trade. To some they’re unable to grow their businesses because of
single parenting. The family whole financial burden is been borne by them. Some of these women also
lack basic financial literacy which we take upon ourselves to train them in that regard.
After these discussions, Finhda comes in with a well thought through and detail oriented
training for these women. We fund them with small grants. The purpose of this grant is not to
make profit but rather to enhance the operations of these market women and also be able to fund
other women within the same bracket.
